हम सब को कहानियां सुनना या देखना पसंद है किसी को फिल्मे देखना पसंद है तो किसी को नॉवेल पढ़ना या कोई काल्पनिक कहानी या नयी छपी किताब। ग़ालिब की उर्दू ग़ज़ले हो या दुष्यंत कुमार की ग़ज़ल या गुलजार के गीतों के बोल।
कभी कभी हम सब रचनाकारों की रचनाओं में खो जाते है ।उनके किरदारों से खुद को या आस पास को जोड़ते है ।कुछ कहानियां हमें पसंद आती है तो कुछ नहीं । हम सबकी भी कहानियां है जो हम कहना चाहते है.....एक सुंदर प्रस्तुति Rakesh Tiwari का--

किसी कहानी ,कविता की सार्थकता और प्रासंगिगता तब ही है जब उसे पढ़ने वाला  उससे एक जुड़ाव महसूस करे। 
मानवीय जीवन एवम् उससे जुड़े अनेक पहलुओं को कहानी के माध्यम से दिखाया जाता है ।एक अच्छी रचना पाठक को अपने साथ संलग्न रखती है।
 लेखन प्राचीन काल से चलती आ रही है पर समय से साथ लेखन में भी अनेक परिवर्तन आएं है नए विचार नए विषयों पर लेखन हो रहे है नए नए विधाओं में।

तुलसीदास जी ने अपने समय के समाज के लिए अनेको रचनाएं की जो आज भी लोकप्रिय है ।उनके द्वारा रचित श्रीरामचरितमानस आज भी विश्वप्रसिद्ध रचना है एवम् सभी मनुष्यों को जीवन जीने का सही मार्ग दिखाती है।
कबीर दास जी ने अपनी सरल और साफ़ भाषा में अपने समय के सामाज के बुराइयों और अन्धविश्वास पर करारा प्रहार किया है।
प्रेमचंद ने अपने लेखन से एक नए युग का सूत्रपात किया है।उनके कहानियों के नायक या नायिका प्रायः समाज के दीन दुखी या गरीब व्यक्ति होता था।उन्होंनो अपने लेखन के माध्यम से समाज को आईना दिखाया ।और अनेक कुरीतियों को उजाकर किया।
गुलेरी ने हिंदी की प्रथम कहानी 'उसने कहा था' लिखी जिससे एक नयी लेखन शैली का विकास हुआ।

अंग्रेजी में भी अनेक लेखकों ने नयी नयी तरहों से कहानियां लिखी  शेक्सपियर,ओ हेनरी ,साकी ,ऑस्कर वाइल्ड,टॉलस्टॉय इनकी रचनाओं का प्रभाव वहां एवम् विश्व पर भी पड़ा।

कविताओं में रामधारी सिंह दिनकर ने लोगों को आवाज़ उठाई एवम् समाज को नयी अन्याय के विरोध करने के लिए कहा।महादेवी वर्मा ने मानवीय संवेदना प लिखा।हरिबंश राय बच्चन ने आने प्रेरणादायक कविताएं लिखी।दुष्यंत कुमार ने ग़ज़ल लिखा बाबा नागार्जुन ने शोषण से विरूद्ध लिखा।लिखा।By Ashutosh Rana--

आज अनेक तरह से लोग अपने विचार रख रहें है । अब डिजिटल माध्यम से लोग अपनी कहानियां कह रहे है। यूट्यूब हो या कोई सोशल मीडिया युवा लेखक आगे आकर अपने विचार कहानी कविता शायरी के माध्यम से रख रहे है....जो एक अच्छा संकेत है....सरल एवम् संयमित भाषा लोगो तक जल्दी पहुचती है ।शब्द का प्रयोग साधारण सी बात को भी रोचक बन देती है और पाठक का ध्यान आकर्षित करती है।

साहित्य समाज का प्रतिविम्ब होती है।और लिखनेवाला अपने समय का प्रतिनिधित्व करता है ।हमें अपने समय का कुछ भाग साहित्य कहानी कविता जीवनी आदि को पढ़ने में देना चाहिए ।जिससे हमें ज्ञान तो मिलेगा ही साथ साथ बौद्धिक विकास भी होगा । पढ़ने से लेखन में भी रूचि बढ़ेगी और हम दुनिया को और खुद को बेहतर ढंग से समझ पाएंगे......
