ATOM BOMB & JAPAN : AN UNSPEAKABLE HORROR

#HIROSHIMA_NAGASAKI

#75YEARS

The harrowing memory in the mind of people of Japanese cities HIROSHIMA and NAGASAKI of 6th and 9th August respectively of 1945 fill with utmost fear and restlessness. On this day the Allies especially The US dropped atom bomb on the two Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, which eventually killed millions of life and wrecked huge havoc all around. This year on 6th of August, the Japanese people marks the 75th anniversary of this bombing by offering their heartfull condolences to their beloved one and gives us message of Nuclear weapons free world.

Let's Know------

What is Atom Bomb? How destructive are they? Why different countries threats to drop atom bomb on a mere petty cause? Do we need to completely eliminate the Atomic weapons?

In December 1938,over Christmas vacation Physicist Lise Meitner and Otto Frisch made a startling discovery that would immediately revolutionise Nuclear Physics and lead to the Atomic bomb. The Atomic bomb works on the principle of Nuclear Fission in which Uranium enriched fuels are used as a driving material for the Chain reaction which produces enormous amount of Heat and light, capable of great devastation if left uncontrolled.

The very atomic bomb, which was misuse of Science and Technology was dropped by US airplane ENOLA GAY with specialised Silver plate version of Boeing B-29 superfortress. On August 6,1945 approximately on 8:15 am one of the modified B-29s dropped a Uranium GUN-type (atom bomb which is one of a kind of Atom Bomb) named "LITTLE BOY" by US. Another B-29 dropped a Plutonium(isotope of Uranium), (for instance isotope is same element with different atomic mass) implosion bomb  which was named "FAT MAN" on Nagasaki three days later. The two bomb completely shattered the life and economy of the Japanese cities and turned cities into debris. The whole city was covered with a blanket of dust and poisonous gases & ashes. Most people died due to suffocation, blindness and many other disorder.

The US detonated( exploded) the nuclear bombs with the consent of UK as required by the "QUEBEC AGREEMENT".It was a secret agreement signed between UK & US by Winston Churchill and Franklin D. Roosevelt respectively. It was related to Nuclear weapons.

The bombs were dropped from an altitude of approximately 43,000 feet in 43 seconds and immediately destroyed their targets. Over the next two to four months, the acute effects of atomic bombing killed between 90,000 and 146,000 people in Hiroshima & 39,000 and 80,000 people in Nagasaki and it also inflicted various post bombing effects like sensation of burning ski, radiation sickness and other injuries compounded by illness and malnutrition.

In both cities, most of the dead were civilians although Hiroshima had a sizable military Garrison. The people who survived in this bombing are called HIBAKUSHA in Japanese.

A video report by BBC News--

Why US dropped bombs on the cities Hiroshima and Nagasaki? What was the motive behind such barbarous attack of US?

In the final year of World War-2, the Allies ( USSR, America, UK and China) prepared for a costly invasion of Japanese mainland. This was undertaken by a conventional and firebombing campaign which devastated 67 Japanese cities. The war in Europe had concluded when Germany signed its Instrument of Surrender on May 8,1945 and Allies turned the full attention to Pacific theater. The Allies called for the unconditional surrender of the Imperial Japanese Armed Forces in the Postdam declaration on July 26,1945,the alternative being prompt and destruction. Japan ignored the ultimatum and war continued.

In the name of terminating the war, the US decided destroy the military backbone of Japanese army and chose the cities Hiroshima and Nagasaki because they were the strategic cities of Japanese army, most of the military equipment and weapons were prepared in these two cities.

The so called motive of US as they claimed was to end the war and bring peace in the east because war was already ended in Europe  but I think the logic is totally absurd, in the name of peace US inflicted a life-long curse and destruction in the mind of people who were residing there. People of Japan at that time were psychologically ruined. The whole human race was altered there, the infants were born polio-stricken, people get developed cancer, felt breathlessness, leukaemia, hair fall and many others unknown disorders.

The Lesson from this Atomic Attack

According to Odd Arne Westad, professor of US-Asia relations at Harvard University, said he believed the massive destruction, contamination and humanitarian suffering from the attacks of Hiroshima and Nagasaki had a  even broader impact by successfully deterring warning nations from using them again for nearly three quarter of century.

"The world became aware of the terrible consequences and that was very significance. It is remarkable that in 75 years since Hiroshima nuclear weapons have never been used again."

Although Hiroshima and Nagasaki are credited for storing the world away from nuclear war, since 1945 US, Russia, France, UK, China, India, Pakistan and North Korea have collectively conducted around 2,000 nuclear weapon test. Another report by BBC news--

"The trouble with having weapons of mass destruction is that if you have got them, it will be tempting under certain circumstances to use them, said Westpad.

That's why on the 75th anniversary of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, the Japanese PM Shinzo Abe insisted that Japan is working on the aim of making the world free from the Nuclear Weapons of mass destruction because the use of such mass destruction weapons is  a curse on humanity for several generation. We should totally eliminate  the Nuclear Weapons.

Indian Independence : A Less Travelled Road #Unwavering Love for freedom.. #In 1947 per capita income was just ₹250. Five Year Plan played key role in development of our country which was very good effort by our leaders.  We are ready to celebrate our 74th anniversary of Independence. From the shackles of cruel, inhumane and brutal policies of Britishers who were oriented towards their own comfort and well being, always demeaned and harassed Indian during colonial  period slowly filled the Indians with huge anger and despondency and then Indian couldn't tolerate anymore because everything has limit... and protested, revolted, disobeyed and even burnt the British goods which truly shook the foundation of British Empire in India in the revolt of 1857,also popularly know as First Freedom Struggle of India and made the Britishers to be realised that they couldn't rule forever on India and they have to leave India free at any cost, because Indians were ready to move HEAVEN AND EA...

CAREER IN ASTRONOMY and COSMOLOGY .......

Career in Astronomy and Cosmology #Universe #Cosmos It is easy to talk about person, place or thing around us, but not so easy as everyone finds it hard to talk about "UNIVERSE" and beyond our planet the EARTH. Do you ever thought, you are fortunate enough to be dweller of the Earth? Do you know, Earth is the only planet till now which has favourable condition for sustaining life? We are frequently hearing these days, universe is expanding, Mars has potential to sustain life, asteroid will hit the earth or it will pass very close to Earth and other celestial events, how and who interpret and explore these things and what we call them who practices these profession. We will come to know in further paragraphs. But, may sceptical people retorts, why we are wasting our money on such irrational things as compared to more pressing issues like poverty, poor health infrastructure, and many other needs but they fail to understand that the rate at which we are currently multiplying o...

THE PLATE TECTONICS : THE DYNAMIC NATURE OF EARTH ๐ŸŒŽ

The Plate Tectonics : The            Dynamic Earth #UnderstandingGeology #UnderstandingEarth Image credit--USGS Introduction In Geologic terms, a plate is a large rigid slab of solid rocks. The word "Tectonics" comes from the Greek root to build. Putting these two words to together, we get the term Plate Tectonics, which refers to How the Earth's surface is built of Plates. In much the same way that geographic borders have separated, collided and been redrawn throughout human history, tectonics plate boundaries have diverged, converged and reshaped the Earth throughout it's geologic history. Today, Science has revealed that the Earth's surface is in a constant state of change. We are able to observe and measure mountains risings and eroding, ocean expanding and shrinking, volcanoes erupting and earthquakes striking. In order to explain these fatal natural disasters the whole Geo-scientific community started to search for the reason why such geologic ...
